Welcome to the band

Picture

Grafton District Scout Band is a youth marching band based in South Northants and was formed in 2008. We take members from the scouting community aged six upwards that have a love of music.

You can usually see the band out and about performing at local events including Fetes, Parades, Steam Rallies and Scouting events. As a band we also compete in competitions along with other youth marching bands that are members of the  Traditional Youth Marching Band Association.(TYMBA)

The object of the Annual Scout Marching Band Inspection is not to pass or fail a Scout Marching Band but mainly to ascertain their standard and, where necessary, give help, encouragement and

We are pleased to announce that we have now been given a grade C.

Band Member of the Year Award goes to Alex Harper

Picture
This award is voted for by all playing members of the band.

Alex (who is a network member) has been in the band for a few years and currently is in the Tuned Percussion section where she plays a bell lyre. Alex gives support to all the members and keeps them motivated by playing games and organising team building activities especially when the instructors are preparing the sessions.

We are delighted that Alex won the award and thank her for all her hard work she puts into the band.
